Times 25231

The first time I’ve ever finnished a Times cryptic!

Can site get merged with a cattle station? (8) = ESTRANCIA

get merged with = anag. (of can site with a)

Welsh assembly sacks a thousand altogether in plant (5) = GORSE

fairly obvious answer from the definition and checking letters but needed the blogs to deconstruct:

Welsh assembly = GORSEDD, sacks = remove, a thousand altogether = DD (D=500)

My favourite clue:

Wallace’s favourite revolutionary, last to raise arms against English (6) = CHEESE

revolutionary = CHE, last to raise arms = E and S, English = E

GORSEDD = welsh assembly
ESTANCIA = cattle station; Spanish/Brazilian estate, ranch
